In Rentopian, you can cancel both quotes and orders.
Cancelled transactions stay in your system for reporting and record keeping.
How to Cancel a Transaction
Open the transaction you want to cancel.
From the Order View screen, find the left-side Order Actions section.
Click Cancel Order.
Select a Cancellation Reason
When cancelling a transaction, a popup confirmation window will open where you can:
Select a preset cancellation reason
Enter a custom cancellation reason
Cancellation reasons are optional, but they are helpful for reporting and tracking trends.
Complete the Cancellation
Click the red Cancel button.
The transaction status will now show as Cancelled.
What Happens When a Transaction Is Cancelled?
Logistics Are Removed
Any logistics connected to the transaction are removed from Dispatching.
Invoices Are Updated
The amount due is removed from active invoice totals and past due calculations or notifications.
Transaction History Remains
The transaction still remains in the system for reporting purposes, and can be converted back to a valid order if ever needed.
Note: If no payments were made, the order may still display an amount due as part of the transaction history.
Refunding Payments
If payments were already collected, you will have the option to refund those payments. Simply click on the payments and enter the amount you'd like to refund from the specific payment and then click Refund. You can find more information about refunding payments here.
