Many areas in Rentopian use tables to show your data.
The same tools can be used in places like:
Transactions
Invoices
Reports
Inventory
Clients
Dashboard tables
You can choose what information you see, move columns, expand hidden data, and control how the list is sorted.
Show or Hide Columns
Use Show/Hide Columns to choose which information appears in your table.
Check a column to show it.
Uncheck a column to hide it.
Hiding columns you do not need can make the table easier to read.
Move Columns
You can change the order of your columns.
Click the column header.
Drag it to the position you want.
Drop it into place.
This lets you place the information you use most where it is easiest to see.
View Hidden Table Information
If your browser window is not wide enough, some information may be moved out of the main row.
When this happens, you will see a gray triangle on the left side of the row.
Click the gray triangle.
The row will expand.
Any information that did not fit on the screen will appear below it.
Tip: If important information keeps moving into the expanded area, hide columns you do not need. This may allow more columns to fit on your screen.
Sort Your Data
You can choose which column is used to sort the table.
Look at the arrows next to the column name.
A single arrow shows the column currently being used to sort.
A down arrow means the list is in descending order.
An up arrow means the list is in ascending order.
For example, if Start Date is sorted in descending order, the latest dates will appear at the top.
Click a column header to sort by that column. Click it again to switch between ascending and descending order.
Sort by More Than One Column
You can also sort by more than one column at the same time.
Select your first sort column.
Hold the Shift key.
Click another column you want to sort by.
You can repeat this with more columns if needed.
Where These Tools Can Be Used
These table tools work in many areas of Rentopian.
For example, you can use them in:
Transaction lists
Reports, such as Future Utilization
Inventory lists
Client lists
Dashboard tables
The exact columns will be different, but the way you customize and sort them is the same.
Best Practices
Hide information you do not use often.
Move important columns toward the left.
Expand rows when information does not fit on your screen.
Use sorting to bring the most useful records to the top.
Use multi-column sorting when you need a more detailed view.
