Coupon Codes are a great option when you have a discount you'd like to make available to multiple clients. For instruction on how to apply a coupon code to a transaction, check out our article on apply discounts here.

To create a coupon code, first you'll click on Settings from your main navigation menu.

From your Settings options, you'll click on the Financial/ Payments tile.

Next, you'll click on the Coupons tile.

Under the Coupons tab, you'll click on the green Add Coupon button.

This will open the Coupon Code creation screen where can set the parameters and discount amount of the coupon code.

You can set the discount amount under the Discount Value field and under the Unit option you'll set whether the value will be a percentage or a specific dollar amount.

Next you'll set the name for the coupon code under the Coupon Code field. You can use any combination of letters, special characters, numbers, and spaces.

Then will be the option to set Quantity Limits. You can set a specific number of time the coupon can be used under the Total Quantity Available option, or you can click the Unlimited Quantity option to not set a limit. When you check the Unlimited Quantity option, the Total Quantity Available option will become uneditable.

Below the Quantity Limits will be the option to set Usage Limits. You have the option to allow your clients to use the coupon only once by selecting the Only 1 use per client option, or allow them to use the coupon code multiple times by selecting Unlimited Coupon Use.

Finally you'll set up the Validity Period. This section will allow you to set the time during which the coupon code can be used. Keep in mind the Start Date and End Date will be based on the transaction start times. If you prefer to allow the coupon code to be available at anytime, you can click the No Expiration option to the right of the End Date field. Selecting No Expiration will gray out the End Date field making it uneditable because there will no longer be an end date for the code.

Once you have set the amount, code, and parameters; you'll click the green Save Coupon button to create your coupon code.

This will create the coupon and navigate you back to your Coupons tab of your Financial/ Payment options. You'll see a green confirmation banner at the top and your coupon code will be listed in the coupon codes table.

Your coupon code will now display as an option in the Coupon Code field in your transaction create (or edit) screen. If you do not see the coupon code as an option, your transaction may not match the coupon parameters or you may need to save your transaction and then edit so that the options will refresh.
