Rentopian is integrated with the following RFID reader and requires an Android device with Rentopian RFID application installed:

Android Application: Rentopian RFID
To connect your RFID device to your Rentopian account, please follow the steps below:
On the Android device download the Rentopian RFID application and install it.
Once the application is installed, open Rentopian RFID app.
Turn on the scanner device, and ensure Bluetooth is enabled on the Android device.
Navigate to the "scanners" tab of the app and connect the scanner device
In your Rentopian account navigate to Settings -> RFID Scanners section and enter a Scanners Secret phrase which will be used in the Rentopian RFID app.
Go to the network tab of the app and enter rfid.rentopian.com for the Server HostNmae/IP and the secret phrase in the Server Secret field.
Click the Test Connection button, you should receive a Success message.
The scanner should now appear in the top section of individual items and return pages to utilize it.
Once the scanner is connected to the Android device, as long as the Rentopian RFID app remains active the scanner will remain on. Even if the app is closed on the Android device, it will run in the background.
To completely exit the app which will allow the scanner to automatically shut off, when exiting the app, there will be a popup notification that the app is still running with a choice to close the app. Once the app is closed in the background as well, it will disconnect from the scanner device and allow it to shut down.
