You can add a damage waiver to your orders in your Rentopian account. For more information about what a damage waiver is, please visit our FAQ article.
Adding a Damage Waiver to Rentopian
To add a damage waiver, first you'll click on Settings in your main navigation menu.
From your settings page, you'll click on the Financial / Payments cell.
From the Financial/Payments options, you'll click Damage Waiver.
In the Damage Waiver tab, you'll set up your damage waiver. You can choose to set up a damage waiver by deposit or by percent and you'll be able to add a tax rate to your damage waiver if your jurisdiction requires it. You can also set the default to not include the damage waiver on orders, meaning that the damage waiver would only be added to specific orders manually, by checking the box next Default Exemption From Damage Waiver. If you leave this option unchecked, the damage waiver will be added to every order unless otherwise noted or it's manually removed. Once you've entered all the information, you'll click the green Update Settings button.
Adding a Damage Waiver to Website Orders
If you are syncing your website with Rentopian, you can also add your damage waiver to your website orders. To add the Damage Waiver to your website, you'll first click on Settings under your Rentopian Sync plugin options from your website Wordpress dashboard.
From your Rentopian Sync settings, you'll scroll to the section labeled Prices Visibility. In this section you have a few options related to your damage waiver.
You can hide the damage waiver option all together and place orders (or quotes) without the damage waiver.
You can charge the damage waiver by default, meaning it will be added to orders automatically (the customer will have the option to opt out of the damage waiver at checkout).
Or you can hide the damage waiver and apply it by default, meaning the damage waiver will be added the order and the customer will not have the option to opt out of the damage waiver.
