Product options is a great way to designate things about the product that do not affect inventory. One example would be if you rent out tents or bounce houses and need to know whether they’ll be installed on a concrete, asphalt, or grass surface because it will affect the weights or tie down tools you bring to install.
To create or manage product options, click on Products in your main navigation menu then click on Options in the expanded menu.
This will bring you to your Product Options list. On this page, you can click on the green Add Product Option button.
This will bring you to the product option creation page. This is where you will add all the information about your product options.
You create an Option Name, mark whether it is only applied once per order and if it is not taxable. Then you’ll create the option values and enter any associated price increase. If you need to add additional option values, you’ll click on the green Add new value button.
Next, you’ll connect the option to specific products and/or specific categories. Once you’ve entered all the information, you’ll click the green Save and Preview button. After you create your product options and connect it to your products, anytime they’re added to an order you’ll be prompted to select an option by a blinking list icon in the details section of the order.
